Gilded Wolves Book Report
Gilded Wolves written by Roshani Chokshi is a book where magic of fantasy and horror of mystery collide into one.The main character Severin, heir of the House Vanth, takes on this challenge to steal a precious artifact that might help him claim his inheritance with the help of his friends. Each friend is extremely unique in his or her own ways. So will he succeed in this odyssey, or will he fail by destroying and ending his father’s legacy? I guess we’ll have to find out.
Throughout Severin's odyssey, he has some friends who help him along the trail. Laila is caring and sweet, but fierce and decisive at the same time. Next, we have Zofia who is the “smarts” of the group but also socially awkward at the same time. To complement this, we have Enrique who is the historian of the group, eagerly waiting for what's coming up next. The person everyone hates, Tristan is obsessed with his pet tarantula and contributes no skill at all to the group. Lastly, Hypnos is the former patriarch of House Nynx who is really not nice at all but deceiving. He forces Severin to steal the Horus Eye from the House Kore so that he can find out more secrets about his father.
As Severin and his band work together, they go through treacherous challenges that help them seek what they want. The mystery thickens as they go on the journey to find the artifact. It also brings in various elements that bring you in a state of confusion and doubt. Just as we are learning about the book, Severin is learning many things he doesn’t know yet.
The setting also sets up the book on an extravagant journey. You might be able to compare it with Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series since both have four houses and try to maintain order and peace. So you can relate to some books and get an idea on what the book might be and if you're interested or not.
Needless to say, I recommend Gilded Wolves to people who enjoy fantasy and mystery but who also like puzzles that might be challenging. I also recommend this book to readers aged 12 and up due to the high level of words and phrases. Check out this book if it's in your library. See your guys I'll be posting soon
