My Experience with NGO's

During my summer break and vacation, I got the chance to work and interact with some NGOs in India such as Kshamata and The Think Sharp Foundation through TribesForGood. What I did was I thought about a topic/issue that would be important for everyone to know and I would have to create a slideshow conveying this information to these NGO’s. The topics that I felt that needed to be meaningful were How we should Recharge and Rewind our Brain and How to Combat against Antibiotics. So during the next few days I researched information about these topics and created Canva slideshows conveying why these issues were worth talking about and spreading awareness. Is used various sites and images to try and hook the kids into my presentations as getting hooked would mean they would understand the information. I also tryed to limit not just have only paragraphs but also interactive videos as some people have a preffered learning than another. So after I finished creating my presentations...

Stanford Summer Insititutes

Hello I have just finished up the Topics of Bioscience presented by Stanford-Pre Collegiate Summer Institutes. In the course I was taught the  Central Dogma, Viruses and Antivirals, Vaccines and the Immune System, Data Analysis and the Scientific Method, Physiology, and Ethical and Societal Implications of Biomedical Research. While learning about this we applied this using Sars-CoV-2 and the Covid-19 outbreak. When beginning this course I knew some level of information such as the central dogma but as I went throughout the course I was exposed to topics and ideas that I had no idea such as how to conduct clinical trials, different types of vaccines, and more. All of this was very interesting as I did not know about these things such as there are 4 phases for clinical trials where the first phase is a limited amount of people and then it scales up from there and then the FDA approves it and then go to production. Another topic I did not know about was the different type of v...

Shadows of The Fallen

Image
Shadows of the Fallen It was a dark time at the Dragonlands. The recent induction of the throwaway Prince Fleming of the Kingdom of Oswald has scared everyone to their seats. A ruthless king who has no heart for society but for his own fame and desire. From the skies to the deep seas, his wrath devoured everything in its path and turned him into the devious Red Dragon himself. But he had one weakness and his one weakness: the return of his brother, Prince Jacob Henderson—a threat that should have been impossible. Anyways, today was a chaotic day at the Kingdom of the Dragons as they were set-sailing to Isles of Celestara ruled over the great Air Marshall Celestra. But Fleming wasn't intimated at all and said, “Set sail onwards to Isles of the Dragonlands”. So Fleming’s Army sailed across the vast Dragon sea but suddenly a vast storm approached their navy and rattled them like ping-pong b...

The Betrayal of Two Brothers

Image
The Betrayal of Two Brothers After a few 1000 years there was a re-election for the king. The two candidates were the sons of Sir Issac Henderson, Prince Jacob Henderson who was the head of state, and Prince Fleming Henderson who was head of treasury. Both were very competitive and wanted full control of the throne and had big plans on what to do with the Kingdom of Oswald. Jacob wanted an era of peace and justice and to keep the kingdom like this forever but while Fleming wanted global domination taking over other lands adding to the regime. In the end the people did not want to be aggressive but be calm so Prince Jacob Henderson, first son or the Great Sir Issac Henderson, was crowned king of Oswald and the rightful act to the throne. Once Fleming heard about this he bursted and fuming with anger and rage and turned into this crazy psycho. Jacob tried calming him down as much as possible but it would no...

SAVE THE BEES

Imagine sitting in a lovely field of grass having a picnic. The birds are singing; the bees are buzzing all in perfect harmony. You see that your picnic has a variety of foods such as watermelon, vegetable pasta, grilled kabobs, and a nice refreshing lemonade. Well, guess what, did you know all that came from bees? Yeah, they are little tiny pollinators that help the plants grow and make our food. They're really amazing, but the bad part is people are not taking care of them. People use pesticides on their lawns, they destroy bee habitats, and they buy conventionally grown produce, which is mostly grown with neonicotinoids coated seeds, leading to death of bees . So we should help take care of them, and I'm going to tell you how the bees help us and how we can all help them. Bees are very helpful creatures that help us get the food we need to stay healthy. They pollinate flowers and other plants to grow the food so it’s good and healthy for us, but how to find the flowers t...

Confidence

Today’s a Tuesday, the sky is clear, the sun is beaming down, but it’s not going be happy skies from here on out. I going to be living a whole new life from now, because all I used to do was sit down in my office, open up my notes, and start helping out customers. Ah the good old days, but I can’t disappoint Anton who got me job at Apple in support and services. Which I did beg him to do. But the thing is that the office is in San Francisco and I live in Milford, Connecticut and thats about 2,972 miles away! So Anton suggested me that I should move from here, and you what I did. I got peer pressured and decided to move to San Francisco to accept the job. I know, dumb me I always enjoyed Milford since it was my first home I ever lived in, and also I always used to country type of person instead of city due to loud noises I don’t enjoy. So I’m going to miss this place with my heart and soul, but anyway I can’t sitting around and mourning all day I have an uber driver whose going t...

The Jahi McMath Case

Did you know that a 13 year old could go brain dead? Well thirteen year old, Jahi McMath went brain dead on December 12, 2013, due to her surgery to treat pediatric obstructive sleep apnea. Once the hospital declared her brain dead, her parents did not believe, so on December 20th they filed a court case against the hospital. Ethical questions that will be introduced and raised during this case study are such as how do we interpret the word “death” and how long we should give compassionate care to brain-dead patients. Jahi was declared brain dead due to a hemorrhagic complication following complex oropharyngeal surgery. The doctors also state that after the surgery in the intensive care unit she had started to bleed and fell into cardiac arrest. This resulted the hospital declaring Jahi brain dead. Even though she is brain dead her heart continues to beat still, as oxygen comes through a ventilator. However, her parents did not accept Jahi was dead, so a couple days later after ...

Save the Food!!!

Today, I participated in the Food Waste Warrior challenge as part of Jane Goodall's Roots and Shoots Program. The challenge involved creating a menu for my family with appropriately sized portions to prevent waste. You can customize your menu based on your food preferences, the amount of leftovers, and your eating habits and portion sizes. I decided to take action, and my menu included fruit salad as appetizers, chicken and pasta for the main course, and cookies for dessert. My favorite part of the meal was the pasta since I like Alfredo, so it tasted delicious, and the fruit salad complemented it with its sweet and acidic tastes. The chicken was my least favorite because of how tough and hard it was. Overall, it was a great meal, and we had no leftovers, so become a Food Waste Warrior and stop wasting food today. Thank you so much and I'll post more!
